Postdoc Position

The J. J. Strossmayer University of Osijek Department of Mathematics invites applications for a post-doctoral position within the project VIMS (Vibration Reduction in Mechanical Systems) under the supervision of Zoran Tomljanović. The position is supported by the Croatian Science Foundation.

Duration and starting time: up to 24 months (depending on a starting date) with preference on beginning from September or October 2021.

Sallary (gross): 15.000 HRK (approx. 2000€).

Responsibilities: The candidate will work on problems related to project on Vibration Reduction in Mechanical systems. The main focus will be on the research topic I (considering vibration reduction for homogeneous case), research topic II (considering vibration reduction for systems with given external force) and research topic IV (that considers integrating research themes and applications). He/she will be expected to work with other project team members, to have the ability to develop and apply new approaches and to implement them in appropriate software. Required competencies:
• finished PhD study within the field of mathematics;
• programming skills in program packages like Matlab, Python or Mathematica and in programming languages C/C++ or Fortran;
• excellent knowledge from area of numerical mathematics with emphasis on numerical linear algebra and advanced control theory;
• at least one accepted or published paper in high quality journal (Mathematics SCIE or mathematics applied SCIE).
